How to remove fan resistor harness from CPU cooling fan

In the case that your Rok Box CPU cooling fan is not spinning, or spinning too slowly, you may see that your CPU performance degrades due to high heat from the CPU.

In this case, we need to troubleshoot the fan noiseless resistor harness that sits between the CPU cooling fan and the motherboard. This resistor's job is to keep the CPU cooling fan spinning at a consistent rate, and to control the voltage that runs to the fan. In some cases, this resistor may fail, causing excessive heat on the CPU.

To do this:

Please look at this point inside the PC for the multicolored connector that runs to the motherboard from the CPU cooling fan:

Disconnect the multicolored connector, then unplug the cable that runs into the other end of it. This is the CPU cooling fan lead.

We will then plug the CPU cooling fan power lead directly to the location into which the multicolored connector previously was connected.

Once that is done, power the PC on, and ensure that the CPU cooling fan is spinning normally.
