While not always needed, BIOS updates are occasionally released for your Rok Box's motherboard.

It is not recommended to update your BIOS unless you are experiencing an issue which may require a BIOS update.

If you need to update your Rok Box's motherboard BIOS, follow along below.

Identify and download the latest BIOS image file.

First, identify the model of your motherboard, as outlined here:

After having done so, identify the BIOS version of your motherboard, as outlined here:

With these two pieces of information in hand, search for a BIOS update for your motherboard via Google, etc. using your mohterboard's manufacturer and model, such as: ASUS PROART CREATOR Z790 WIFI

Most BIOS image files may be downloaded from the ASUS website: https://www.asus.com/support

Or, contact us and we'll be happy to help you find the correct and most up-to-date BIOS image file.

You can read the full BIOS manual here

Installing the BIOS image file

Once you have located the latest BIOS image file (you'll want to download the most recently-released version of the BIOS image from the manufacturer website, extract the contents of your downloaded file to a USB thumb drive, preferably one that is free of any other data, and formatted FAT32.

Then, reboot your PC by repeatedly pressing the DEL key on your keyboard while your Rok Box boots.

You'll be presented with the BIOS primary screen (your motherboard's BIOS screen may vary):

Enter Advanced Mode by pressing the Function key associated with advanced mode as outlined in the BIOS home screen, in this case, F7.

Backup your UEFI/BIOS configuration

Before updating your BIOS, we suggest backing up the BIOS firmware configuration of your motherboard, as outlined here:

Opt to save the BIOS profile to a USB thumb drive -- you may save it to the same USB thumb drive on which you have placed the BIOS update file.

The default name for this profile is PCAL. You may save the file under that name.

Once the system confirms that you've saved the BIOS profile to the thumb drive, you may move onto updating the BIOS.

Updating the BIOS

After this is done, navigate to the Tool menu:

And then select the EZ Flash Utility option.

Next, utilize the EZ Flash application to update your Motherboard BIOS:

After performing these steps, remove the USB thumb drive, and reboot your Rok Box.

You may see some messages upon bootup about your firmware being updated. This is normal; allow this process to complete.

Once done, the PC should boot normally.

Reload BIOS Profile

Now, reload your BIOS profile:

Boot the PC to the BIOS by repeatedly pressing DEL as the Rok Box boots.

Navigate to Advanced Mode (F7),then Tool, then ASUS User Profile.

Select Load profile from USB drive.

Browse to the location of the BIOS profile file, and double-click to load.

The BIOS will confirm that the profile has loaded.

Now, navigate to the Exit tab, and select Save Changes and Reset:

Your Rok Box should now reboot, with its newly-updated BIOS installed.
